Color is an emotion that brings excitement and enthusiasm to our lives. When we look around us, there is color everywhere visible to the eyes. A world without color would probably be incredibly boring. However, in order to understand color, it is necessary to have knowledge about light. It is not possible to talk about color if there is no light. If there is no light, there is no color. Color is a light effect that can be perceived by the eye. The perception that occurs in our eyes as a result of the rays are reflected after the light hits the objects is called color.

Color Wheel

The color wheel helps us analyze colors. There are 3 basic colors on the color wheel. Red, yellow and blue. If we look at color theory and its historical development, we find different definitions of many scientists such as Leonardo, Newton, Goethe. Newton's color theory is considered the basis of color identification systems today. Newton discovered that white light is a beam containing all colors, that this beam is refracted when passed through a glass prism and is divided into seven colors of the rainbow. When this light encounters an object, some of it is reflected on the object. It is this reflection that we perceive as the color of the object. Colors are divided into 3 groups as primary, intermediate and contrast colors.
